Sydney Scotia is a gorgeous and multitalented lady with acting, directing, singing, song writing and producing credits to her name. Performing since she was fifteen, Scotia fell in love with all aspects of creative media, and first began her foray into directing at the very young age of only eighteen. From there she built on her talents to create her own production company called Scotia Entertainment. Through this company, Scotia works on a wide array of projects, the most well-known being the feature length documentary This Hits Home, and the short film I Dare You, which screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
Scotia began her career as a competitive dancer, and she has multiple regional and national awards under her belt, including Performer Of The Year (Encore), and two national First Place Soloist titles (NUVO and The Pulse On Tour). In 2008, she had the honour of performing in HongKong with iconic Olympian and gold medallist Olga Korbut, and after continuing to train as an actress, she began working with huge children’s TV channel Nickelodeon. In 2013, she appeared as Geneva on the award winning YTV and Netflix series, Some Assembly Required- her performance earned her two consecutive Joey awards for Best Actress In A TV Comedy Or Action Leading Role, and a nomination for the 2016 LEO Award for Best Performance In A Youth Series. Following this, Scotia was then nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Women In Film Festival for her role in William Shockley’s Common Threads as Cassidy Bleu.
Scotia is currently working on the hit new thriller TV show Limited Edition, which is in pre-production, and the comedy short film Dead End, which is planned to premiere in 2021.
