The incredible young athlete Tang Xijing is an artistic gymnast, who is the joint highest all-around finisher for a Chinese woman in World or Olympic history. She is the 2019 World all-around Silver medalist, an Olympic Silver medalist, and the 2022 Chinese national all-around champion.
Born and raised in China, Tang started in gymnastics at a young age. At 15 she was part of the Chinese team who won the Gold medal at the 2018 Asian Junior Championships. She also won an individual Gold on balance beam. She competed at the Youth Olympic Games in 2018, winning Gold on balance beam and Bronze on uneven bars.
Tang started her senior career as part of the Chinese team to compete in the 2019 City of Jesolo Trophy, where she won a Team Silver and an individual Silver for the uneven bars. The same year she took part in the World Championships, winning Silver for all-around, then at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics she won Silver for balance beam. Her winning ways continued at the 2022 Asian Championships where she collected three medals: a Team Gold and two individual Silvers.
