Tarik Jenkins

Tarik Jenkins emerged into the public eye as a cast member on the MTV reality series ‘Siesta Key,’ first appearing in 2018. Before his television debut, Jenkins pursued a degree in computer science from Florida International University, graduating and subsequently working for a technology company in Tampa. His time on ‘Siesta Key’ saw him introduced as an old friend of cast member Madisson Hausberg, and he quickly became known for his direct communication style. A significant aspect of his reality television presence was his decision to publicly come out as gay on the show. This decision aimed to inspire and provide a voice for others within the LGBTQ+ community, particularly young individuals facing similar personal challenges.

During his tenure on ‘Siesta Key,’ Jenkins was featured in six episodes in 2018. His narrative arc on the show delved into personal topics, including the challenges he faced with his family regarding his sexuality, having been raised in a Jehovah’s Witness household. Furthermore, Jenkins shared a personal tragedy on the show, discussing the loss of a loved one in the Pulse nightclub mass shooting in Orlando, Florida, which impacted his personal life and views on relationships.

Following his appearance on ‘Siesta Key,’ Tarik Jenkins transitioned his focus more fully back to his professional career in technology. He currently resides in California and works as an Application Architect at Warner Bros. Entertainment. While no longer a regular on ‘Siesta Key,’ his experience on the show marked a period of significant personal disclosure and public outreach, solidifying his role as a public figure advocating for authenticity and self-acceptance.
