Groundbreaking professional wrestler and influencer Tenille Dashwood achieved world fame with her five-year stint with WWE, the most successful wrestling franchise of all-time. Known as Emma, she was the first Australian female to be signed by the company. She competed at iconic events such as Wrestlemania and was a regular on shows such as Raw and Smackdown. She is currently one of the stars of the similarly influential Impact franchise, having joined in 2019. She is highly popular on social media, boasting over 1.5 million followers on Instagram alone. She uses the platform to share her love of travel, posting pictures of her journeys to some of the most beautiful places on Earth.
Dashwood hails from the Melbourne suburb of Boronia, where she was born in 1989. Passionate about wrestling from a young age, she met some of her heroes, including Trish Stratus and Lita, when WWE visited Australia, inspiring her to start training aged 13. She began wrestling with the ring-name Valentine, but a shoulder injury when she was 15 kept her out of action for two frustrating years. When her shoulder had fully healed, she returned to training with a vengeance, even moving to Canada to train at the Lance Storm Wrestling Academy.
The following few years were divided between Canada, Australia, and America, as Dashwood fought for different promotions under different aliases, working towards her big industry break. That break came in 2011 when she was signed by WWE and promptly moved to Florida. By 2015, she was being rated by Pro Wrestling Illustrated as one of the 50 Greatest Female Wrestlers.
