Legendary country singer and songwriter TG Sheppard has been lighting up the stage for over forty years. During his remarkable career, he has produced 21 number one hits and is widely considered one of the most popular live performers around today. With such hits as Last Cheaters Waltz, I Loved ‘Em Everyone, Party Time, and Do You Wanna Go to Heaven, it’s no surprise that Sheppard has earned his remarkable reputation over the years. Born and raised in Humboldt, Tennessee, Sheppard discovered his passion and love for music as a child. At fifteen years old, he uprooted his life to Memphis to pursue his career in earnest. From there, he developed his stage skills while playing in several bands. Under the guise of “Brian Stacy,” Sheppard released his first record, High School Days which caused a stir in the 1966 music charts. Now a beloved household name, Sheppard has built an enduring legacy that will continue to entertain audiences for generations.
Devil in the Bottle earned Sheppard overnight success in the early 1970s. The song changes his life forever, and he sparked up a budding friendship with Elvis Presley while promoting records for RCA. Presley later gifted Sheppard with his first tour bus in 1976, which sparked Sheppard’s rise to the top. Signed to Motown Records, Sheppard sharpened his distinct sound with his notable hits, When Can We Do This Again and Trying to Beat the Morning Home. That same year, Sheppard was named Best New Male Artist by Cash Box and was snapped up by Warner Bros soon after. His career skyrocketed with 14 back-to-back number one singles, including Only One You and War is Hell (On the Homefront). Music City News quickly named Sheppard Most Promising Male Vocalist, and the rest is history.
Renowned for his well-crafted, slickly produced country-pop rhythms, Sheppard’s distinct sound is timeless. From one number one hit to another, Sheppard is well known for his evocative vocals and memorable lyricism. From duetting with the iconic Clint Eastwood on Make My Day to collaborating with Karen Brooks on Faking Love, Sheppard’s portfolio is as remarkable as his career. With his unrelenting passion for music, Sheppard will never shy away from producing new songs. Midnight in Memphis marked Sheppard’s first album release in 22 years, and he is as relevant and captivating as ever.
