Bernd Weidung, otherwise known by his stage name Thomas Anders is a German born singer whose rise to fame began as the frontman of one of Germany’s most successful pop duos, Modern Talking.

Along with fellow bandmate Dieter Bohlen, Thomas Anders put out ‘You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul’ under Modern Talking in 1984. Proving to be an international sensation, the track rocketed the eurodisco duo into global stardom.

Their success didn’t stop there, soon after equally huge hits were written and released, such as ‘You Can Win If You Want’, ‘Cheri, Cheri Lady’, ‘Brother Louie’, ‘Atlantis Is Calling (S.O.S. for Love)’, ‘Jet Airliner’ and ‘Geronimo’s Cadillac’, to name a few. During Dieter Bohlen and Thomas Anders’ career together, Modern Talking sold an astonishing 120 million records internationally.

Since the band disbanded for the final time in 2003, Thomas has blossomed into a solo behemoth. With a whopping 6 studio albums under his belt, Thomas Anders has been responsible for consistently classy music, like ‘Love Of My Own’, ‘Why Do You Cry?’ and ‘Sexy, Sexy Lover’.
Today, Thomas is something of a music icon in Eastern Europe and has embarked on many stadium tours. As an ode to the influence his music has had on so many people’s lives, the University of Kyiv made him honorary professor in 2006, for shaping the taste of a generation.
