Still only a teenager, drumming prodigy Tosh Peterson already has worldwide tours, a host of collaborations and an appearance on A Late Show with Stephen Colbert on his resume. Peterson’s father began teaching him to play the drums when he was just 2 years old and, at the age of 4, the precocious Peterson himself contacted his idol Thomas Pridgen, former drummer of The Mars Volta, who agreed to give him lessons for the following 4 years. Peterson went on to begin touring at the age of only 16.
His music has taken him all over the world and he has recorded with artists like Ashton Irwin, Bryce Vine, Mario Biondi, Vana Liya, Nik West, Emblem3, and Jonny Goood. Peterson is also prolific on Instagram, boasting over 27,000 followers. He holds many endorsement deals because of his social media presence, including Zildjian Cymbals, Vic Firth Sticks, Aquarian Drumheads, Ahead Cases, Mee Audio, Roland Electronics and Trixin Clothing.
In 2020, Peterson was the drummer in Superbloom: A Live Concert Film by Ashton Irwin, which has been viewed over 170,000 times since first appearing on YouTube. In June of that year, he appeared on the #PlayAtHome pandemic music guest segment of A Late Show with Stephen Colbert, as the drummer and backup singer to Carlie Hanson on her hit song Stealing My Friends. Peterson has also featured in many of Hanson’s music videos. In February 2021, Peterson’s band Bexley released the single and video If We Have To Die.
