Tracy Little is a former Canadian synchronised swimmer, known for competing at two Olympic Games and winning medals at two Pan American Games. She was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012, and today works in the sports, fitness and wellbeing industry and as a motivational speaker.
Little started competing nationally in synchronised swimming in 2002, and joined the Canadian synchronised swimming team in 2006. Her first major international success would come the following year at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, where the Canadian team took home the silver medal, finishing a close second behind the United States. The team later qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, performing to an international audience of millions, where they would ultimately finish in an impressive place fourth, only narrowly missing out on a medal. Over the following years, Little continued to compete with the team, representing Canada in the Technical Duet at the FINA World Aquatic Championships, and later clinching a bronze medal in the team event at the 2010 FINA World Cup.
Little’s best year with the team yet would come in 2011, when they picked up gold at that year’s Pan American Games in Guadalajara, earning them an automatic spot at the London Olympics the following year. At London 2012, the Canadian team would again secure a fourth-place finish, and Little later announced her retirement from competitive sport. Since leaving the pool, she has performed with Cirque du Soleil, has worked as a personal trainer and fitness coach, and has provided motivation and inspiration to others as a public speaker.
