About

Victor Rasuk was born on January 15, 1984, in New York City, New York. Of Dominican descent, he attended performing arts school as a teenager and began acting at the age of 14. His early career was marked by a collaboration with director Peter Sollett, starring in the short film “Five Feet High and Rising” (2000), which was subsequently expanded into the feature-length film “Raising Victor Vargas” (2002). His performance in “Raising Victor Vargas” earned him a nomination for Best Debut Performance at the 19th Independent Spirit Awards.

Rasuk’s career progressed with a notable role as skateboarder Tony Alva in the 2005 biographical drama “Lords of Dogtown.” This role required him to engage in physical training, and he maintained a method acting approach both on and off-screen. He also took on significant television roles, including Dr. Ryan Sánchez in “ER” (2008–2009) for 6 episodes and Cameron “Cam” Calderon in the HBO comedy-drama series “How to Make It in America” (2010–2011), where he was part of the main cast for 16 episodes. From 2014 to 2015, he starred as Detective Ben Caldwell in the CBS drama series “Stalker,” appearing in 19 episodes.

His filmography further expanded with roles in major productions such as “Godzilla” (2014), where he played Sergeant Tre Morales, and the “Fifty Shades” film series, portraying José in “Fifty Shades of Grey” (2015), “Fifty Shades Darker” (2017), and “Fifty Shades Freed” (2018). More recently, Rasuk held the male lead role of Daniel Garcia in the ABC series “The Baker and the Beauty” (2020), which ran for 9 episodes. He has continued to work in television, appearing as Mike Ortiz in “Reasonable Doubt” (2022) for 11 episodes and Oscar in “How I Met Your Father” (2023) for 2 episodes.
