Austin Butler made his acclaimed theater debut in 2014 in ‘Death of the Author’ at the Geffen Playhouse, subsequently making his Broadway debut in 2018 as Don Parritt in Eugene O’Neill’s ‘The Iceman Cometh,’ where he starred alongside Denzel Washington. Prior to his significant stage work, Butler established a robust career in television, securing main roles as Sebastian Kydd in The CW’s ‘The Carrie Diaries’ (2013-2014) and as Wil Ohmsford in MTV’s ‘The Shannara Chronicles’ (2016-2017). His earlier television credits included prominent parts such as Jake Krandle in ‘iCarly’ (2007) and James Garrett in ‘Zoey 101’ (2008). Butler also expanded into feature films with roles like Jake Pearson in ‘Aliens in the Attic’ (2009) and the lead as Peyton Leverett in ‘Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure’ (2011), notably starring as Zack Garvey in Sofia Coppola’s ‘The Bling Ring’ (2011).
He will also portray Vernon Jefferson Peak in the highly anticipated feature ‘Eddington,’ expected in 2025.
