Yao Cabrera is a Uruguayan-born YouTuber who has built an immense following on the platform with his pranks. Since starting his channel in 2012, he has gained 8.9 million subscribers with his antics which range from playing real-life versions of Squid Game to faking his own death. He also has a TikTok audience of 3.5 million people. As befits such extreme pranksters, his antics can be extremely controversial and he has ended up in confrontations with various rival YouTubers.
Cabrera was born in Uruguay in 1997 as Marcos Ernesto Cabrera Rodriguez. He launched his YouTube channel whilst still in school but first found fame as part of the Dos Bros comedy content duo. Cabrera, however, was always prepared to go one step further to get a reaction and by 2015, he was posting rogue solo pranks, which include pretending that he’d been stabbed by a drug dealer. He’s definitely not for the faint-hearted, but he pulls in the viewers.
