Cameron Krafft, known by his stage name Young Nut, began his music career while attending Arizona State University as a sophomore film major. His initial foray into rapping was prompted by listening to his roommate, leading him to experiment with the art form in his dorm room. Krafft released his first mixtape in mid-2017, which, despite being produced quickly, garnered unexpected popularity for some of its tracks. In December 2017, Young Nut released his first full-length album, “Season2.” This album showcased a more professional production, as Krafft worked with dedicated producers and sound engineers to enhance the quality of his music. The album’s opening track, “Who This,” accumulated 300,000 listens on Spotify upon its release. Additionally, the music video for a track titled “I Don’t Eat Ass” achieved 15,000 views on YouTube. His distinctive style and relatable content resonated with his audience, leading to a growing social media presence and a solid fanbase. Krafft’s commitment to releasing consistent new content was evident in his plan for 2018, aiming to release one new song per month starting in February, alongside producing more music videos.

Krafft draws inspiration from daily life and other rappers such as Ugly God and Lil Dicky, though he maintains a comedic and authentic lyrical style. His approach involves rapping about his own lifestyle, characterized by humor and lightheartedness. This authenticity has been a key factor in his connection with listeners, as noted by fans who appreciate his ability to embrace hip-hop stereotypes playfully while remaining genuine. Collaborations with local artists, including Sebastian Raft who produced tracks for him, and fellow musician Lil QWERTY, have further expanded his network and creative output within the music scene. His work has amassed significant streaming numbers, with 33.5 million streams, 408 playlists features, and 8.35 million playlist reach.
