The Bastille frontman has teamed up with O2 for the launch of a new information hub that helps music fans buy gig tickets safely.
Musician Dan Smith has been partnered with O2 by MN2S for the Stamp It Tout campaign. The collaboration is part of O2’s wider Fight for Fairer Ticketing initiative, which aims to protect music fans from exploitative ticket touting practices by providing clear guidance, raising awareness, and urging fans to take part in shaping fairer ticket resale laws. At the heart of the campaign is Stamp It Tout – an online information hub designed to help fans navigate the ticket resale market safely, avoid being ripped off by inflated prices, and submit their views to the UK government’s ongoing consultation, which closes on 4th April. Dan Smith’s involvement as a passionate advocate for fair access to live music helps spotlight this critical issue at a pivotal moment for the live events industry.
With nearly half of UK gig-goers admitting they struggle to identify legitimate resale platforms, the campaign is a timely response to growing consumer confusion. O2 is calling for a 10% cap on resale prices, with research showing touts make an estimated £145 million annually by reselling tickets at inflated rates. The new site offers fans practical tips, a guide to the consultation process, and more details about O2’s long-standing work to reform the ticketing system. In addition to the online hub, O2 will host a “Consultation Station” at The O2 in London from 1st–3rd April, giving fans an easy way to voice their support for change. Dan Smith is encouraging music lovers to share their views online or in person to ensure fans (not touts) remain at the heart of live music.
