Deezer says that 30,000 synthetic tracks are being uploaded to the streaming service each day, but the platform is taking bold steps to preserve authenticity in its catalogue.
Deezer has reported that fully AI-generated music now makes up more than a quarter of the content uploaded to its platform. The France-based streaming service revealed that over 30,000 tracks created with AI are submitted every day, accounting for 28% of its total new tracks each day. The company also found that much of this material is linked to fraudulent activity, with as many as 70% of streams for AI-generated songs being identified as fake. Deezer excludes these plays from its royalty calculations in an effort to protect the interests of artists and rights holders while maintaining accurate reporting.
In response to the rapid growth of AI-generated music, Deezer has implemented its own AI detection system, which has been in place since January 2025. This tool allows the company to identify and tag fully AI-generated content, which is then filtered out of algorithmic recommendations and excluded from editorial playlists. By doing this, Deezer hopes to prevent AI tracks from affecting listener experiences or reducing the share of royalties paid to human creators.
