Pop-classical crossover artist Anne Garr adds a JUNO Academy voting role and European airplay to a year already building toward a Eurovision bid.
Pop-classical crossover artist Anne Garr, known for multilingual releases like “Echo” and her opera and musical theatre background, has had a run of milestones land at once. She has been confirmed as an official JUNO Academy Delegate, a voting role with Canada’s recording academy, while her single “How I Feel” has picked up a broadcast rotation add expanding into Spain, France and the wider Mediterranean basin, according to Anne. Alongside this, she has submitted an entry for Canada’s first appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027. Anne continues to work with MN2S Label Services for distribution.
A Voice in the JUNO Academy
Anne is now an official JUNO Academy Delegate, taking on a vetted, voting role in determining some of Canada’s highest musical honours. The JUNO Academy Delegate programme, run by the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS), brings in industry voices to help judge the JUNO Awards each year. “I’m thrilled to be a part of helping shape the musical landscape of the country at the highest level,” Anne says of the appointment.
“How I Feel” Picks Up European Airplay
Anne’s single “How I Feel,” released through MN2S Label Services, has secured a broadcast rotation add taking it into new European territory, including Spain, France and the wider Mediterranean basin, Anne reports.
Eyes on Eurovision
On July 1, it was announced that Canada would participate in Eurovision for the first time. “The Eurovision Song Contest is the biggest music stage in the world, and we invite artists from across Canada to be part of this remarkable adventure with us,” CBC’s executive vice-president, Doug Smith, shared in a press release.
“We are seeking a magnetic Canadian performer with a genuine passion for representing Canada and a proven track record of captivating very large live audiences, whether through exceptional vocal power, electrifying stage presence, or truly original artistry.” Anne has submitted her entry to represent the country.
More New Music in the Works
Anne is also back in the studio on a new version of “Echo,” working alongside her sister and collaborator Grace G., with the track heading to original “Echo” producer Roy Hamilton for his approval ahead of an official label release. Beyond that, she is developing a new single called “The Distance,” written by Grace and produced by Kenny Lewis, expected to follow once the Echo update is out. More details on both to come as they’re confirmed.
