Leandro Da Silva and Haxhia’s Afro-Colombian-inspired bass house collab is turning heads across the globe, proving that music rooted in culture hits harder on the dancefloor.
When Leandro Da Silva began dropping an unreleased ID in his sets across Miami and Ibiza this spring, something kept happening: the crowd moved before they even knew the song. That track, ‘Oye Manita’, a collaboration with rising Italian-Albanian producer Haxhia, is now out on Black Lizard Records, and it’s delivering exactly the kind of results that signal a genuine breakthrough.
The release has climbed to #11 in the Beatport Bass House chart, landed as a Featured pick in the Big Banner Bass House and Best New Bass House sections, and secured placement across multiple Spotify editorial playlists including Nasty Bits, All New Dance, and Latin House. On 1001Tracklists, it holds the #25 spot on the Top Newcomer Chart and #64 overall. On Amazon Music, it has been featured on the Novidades playlist.
Support has flooded in from DJs around the world, with multiple artist reposts, fire-emoji endorsements, and plays across international radio shows. The MN2S Label Services account reposted the announcement, noting it was already receiving incredible support and that the response had been amazing. Comments from the wider dance community, including DJ Walter Gardini and others, reflect genuine excitement for the track’s direction.
About ‘Oye Manita
Built on Afro-Colombian rhythms, Oye Manita draws inspiration from the iconic Colombian folk singer Totó la Momposina, preserving the original song’s message of identity, sisterhood, and resilience while translating it into a pulsing club context. Far from a simple genre exercise, the track represents a considered creative act.
“The challenge was not just making a remix or a ‘tech house version,’” Da Silva explained in a recent interview with EDM.com. “The track started from a very emotional place before it became a club record,” he added, noting the source material speaks to identity, sisterhood, and resilience.
The result is a record that bridges the cultural and the physical, rooted in heritage and built for the dancefloor. It’s exactly the kind of release that Black Lizard Records has become known for.
Artist Profile: Leandro Da Silva
Leandro Da Silva is one of Italy’s most globally respected DJ-producers, a figure who brings Brazilian roots and Italian craft to everything he makes. Born in Rio de Janeiro and raised in Rome from the age of ten, his dual heritage is the engine of his music: groove-forward, warm, and built to travel.
His career achievements are extensive. His catalog has surpassed 100 million streams, he has held a position in DJ Mag’s Top 150 for multiple consecutive years, and he appeared in the 1001Tracklists Top 101 Producers list for six consecutive years, peaking at #9 in 2020. His official remix of Flames by David Guetta and Sia (Parlophone) hit #1 on Beatport and accumulated over 7 million streams on Spotify. He has also delivered official remixes for Clean Bandit, Demi Lovato, Sofi Tukker, Oliver Heldens, and more.
Releases have spanned Spinnin’ Records, Big Beat/Atlantic, Warner Music, Armada, Universal, AFT:HRS, Protocol, and Solotoko, among others. His long-running radio show In Da Silva House has been broadcast internationally via m2o Radio, Italy’s primary dance music network, since its launch.
He is the founder and A&R of Black Lizard Records, which is currently celebrating its 10-year anniversary and was nominated for Hype Label of the Year at the Beatport Awards 2025. The label has been a consistent platform for cutting-edge tech and bass house across a decade of growth.
Da Silva is currently nominated for three awards at the Italian Dance Music Awards: Best House DJ/Producer, Best Radio Show for In Da Silva House, and Independent Label of the Year for Black Lizard Records. As he told EDM.com: “It represents different sides of the work I’ve been building over the years. It’s not only about being recognized as a DJ or producer, but also for the bigger vision around everything I do.”
Artist Profile: Haxhia
Haxhia (Marco Haxhia, born 6 January 2002) is a Tuscany-based DJ and producer of Italian and Albanian descent, a Gen Z artist who arrived at electronic music through classical discipline. He began piano lessons at 14, discovered his uncle’s CDJs at 13, and by 16 was performing at some of the most prominent clubs on Italy’s Riviera Romagnola, including a Christmas Eve set at the iconic Pineta di Milano Marittima.
A graduate of the SAE Institute in Milan in Electronic Music Production, Haxhia blends disco, funk, and tech house influences with a sound shaped by his Albanian and Greek roots. His production work reflects the emotional conviction of a classically trained musician: he sees music as a universal language, and his sets as emotional exchanges, not just technical performances.
Early career highlights include a remix for Joe T Vannelli, a collaboration that extended to shared Ibiza stages, and a debut single We Can Try, released in 2020 alongside prominent dance vocalist Nino Lucarelli. His track RM merged Balkan flutes with tech house grooves, gaining him wider attention for his ability to thread cultural tradition through modern club music.
Managed by Origami Management, whom he joined following a stint at Amsterdam Dance Event, Haxhia is building steadily and deliberately, with a clear focus on craft over hype. Oye Manita is his most high-profile release to date, and the chart performance speaks to what he is capable of at scale.
