MN2S Label Services is thrilled to announce that it will be distributing a new single from the Matsiko World Orphan Choir, “Rise”. Made up of orphaned children from Liberia, India, Peru and Nepal, The Matsiko World Orphan Choir is an initiative that champions the importance of education for at-risk and underprivileged youth. “Rise” is a new single, featuring the choir and produced by Black Sonix and Sean McCabe, that seeks to encourage listeners to support the Choir’s mission of providing education and breaking the cycle of poverty for vulnerable children. The Matsiko Choir has performed shows across the world, most recently at the New Orleans Jazz Festival, Litchfield Jazz Festival, and Summerfest in Harlem, NY. For more information about the Matsiko World Orphan Choir and to support their mission, visit their website.
Mark Hegarty, Creative Director for the Matsiko World Orphan Choir, says he is “overjoyed” to collaborate with Sean McCabe, Black Sonix and Good Vibrations on “Rise”. “There are 600m vulnerable and at-risk children living in poverty,” Hegarty says. “The Matsiko World Orphan Choir are some of these children living in Liberia, West Africa. They are using music to positively give a voice to the voiceless, and helping other children rise with education and empowerment.”
“I’ve been friends with Justin (Black Sonix) for over 30 years, and we always talked of collaborating on a project like this,” Hegarty continues. “I’m thrilled with the result. It captures the contagious, joyful, uplifting spirit of the choir and of Liberia. We encourage you to enjoy Rise, follow us on Spotify and see how you can get involved.
