MN2S team to deliver lecture on Building Your Label and Your Brand at LCCM | MN2S

Three MN2S team members are set to lead an exclusive lecture at the London College of Creative Media (LCCM) on Monday, March 17. Titled Building Your Label and Your Brand, the event, part of the Special Edition MIM series, will find Megan Blythin, Tessa Harrison, and Chris James exploring how emerging artists can gain a foothold in today’s ever-changing music industry. From branding and PR to social media and digital distribution, students will walk away with priceless insights on how to promote themselves effectively and take control of their music careers.

Chris James, Distribution Manager at MN2S, will kick things off by explaining how MN2S helps artists navigate the complex world of digital music distribution. He’ll discuss the importance of connecting with major streaming platforms and stores to ensure global reach, as well as licensing and sync opportunities (placements in TV shows, films, and video games) that can greatly increase visibility. Chris will also touch on the oft-misunderstood but essential process of rights management and royalty collection before diving into the success story of house legend DJ Spen as a useful case study.

Megan Blythin, Brand and Communications Manager at MN2S, will dig deep into the art of branding. She will guide attendees through the process of defining an artist’s identity, from shaping their sound to developing a visually compelling and emotionally resonant brand. Megan will explore how artists can build a memorable stage persona that remains true to who they are while evolving with their audience. She’ll use examples like Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and Sabrina Carpenter to illustrate how these artists grew their brands by refining their look and sound over time to keep up with contemporary trends. Megan’s session will offer practical advice and expert insights on creating a cohesive identity that resonates with both fans and the industry.

Tessa Harrison, PR Manager at MN2S, will round off the lecture with a focus on mastering social media and creating PR-worthy content. With her extensive background in media relations, Tessa will share strategies for building an effective presence on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X. She’ll discuss how to strike the right balance between curated content and authentic posts, explaining how behind-the-scenes footage, live sessions, and collaborations can help artists create deeper connections with their audiences. Tessa will also cover the ins and outs of pitching music to blogs, playlists, and media outlets. 

Tessa is no stranger to sharing her expertise. Earlier this year, she was invited to speak at Masters University’s School of Business and Communication, where she led a guest session for students eager to break into the PR industry. During the informal, Q&A-style talk, Tessa offered practical advice on launching a PR career and succeeding in a competitive landscape.

This lecture comes on the heels of MN2S’s recent visit to LCCM’s Freshers Fair, where they met with students embarking on their musical journeys.
