Our label management team is pleased to welcome a new label to the roster: Monie Star.
Headed up by Pierre Gilles, Monie Star releases music from a range of producers that includes Moniestien, Hlokwa Wa Afrika, Jamie Christer, Insane Malwela and more. Launched with a view to focusing on a more diverse set of artists than its parent label Monie Power Records, the imprint aims to showcase “different international sounds, but all in house music.” Their latest release is Palo Mayombe’s EP Scara Muzike.

Speaking about their first release, Moniestien & C&S’ “Couldn’t Be soon Enough”, Gilles commented: “this one brings back a lot of memories, I remember working on this all night.” Working alongside MN2S, Monie Star are relying on our experienced Label Services department to distribute their music digitally while helping them realise their creative vision. With a “releases, releases and more releases” coming soon, 2020 is only just getting started for Monie Star.
