Hip-hop legend Big Daddy Kane becomes the latest in a long line of legendary rappers to co-create an item of footwear, with the launch of his ‘BDK’ shoe range alongside designer British Walker.
Only 500 pairs of the BDK loafers will be released on December via the British Walker website, and will be available in ‘Pink Suede and Ice Grey Leather’ for $165 or ‘Black Quilted Snake’ for $175.
“Back in the days, I guess the thing that made me a British Walker fan was the impact that it had on cats in the hood”, he says of his long-standing admiration for the brand, “‘Cos we’re not talking about a sneaker see, we’re talking about a shoe.”
“I tried to be authentic but original” he says of his designs. “It has that look like, ‘yeah I remember that – but it’s hot how he flipped it’.”
