AARP and Daybreaker have teamed up once again to host a virtual dance party fronted by the father of the twist himself.
Following on from the previous AARP x Daybreaker event, in which over 22,000 people logged on to enjoy the virtual show, the organisation are throwing another online dance party to benefit their cause. AARP booked Chubby Checker through MN2S to perform at their “Rock N’ Rollin Spring Fling”, a homage to the golden ’50s. The event will feature a performance from Chubby Checker, the rock n’ roll king behind The Twist and The Fly, along with performances from Mc Elliott LaRue, The Vintage DJ, The Swayzees and Postmodern Jukebox. AARP have made tickets free for all those who wish to take part – hit the link below to RSVP before April 17th.
Join the fun by registering online before April 17th.
“Music and movement stimulate the brain, relieve stress, build social connections and combat the isolation that plagues so many of us these days.”
AARP
Not only did the organisation put on the event to help the elderly break through the barriers of isolation, but to promote mind and body health. A recent report from the AARP-founded Global Council on Brain Health (GCBH) stated that dancing and music can help in the treatment of conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and dementia, boosting brain health along with emotional well-being. This tremendous event will demonstrate that during a time of difficulty, dancing is a great way to remain positive.
