MF Robots release debut album this Friday | News | MN2S

Former Brand New Heavies Jan Kincaid and Dawn Joseph release their debut album as MF Robots on 4th May.

Music For Robots will be the aptly titled debut album from funk/soul/jazz duo MF Robots. The group were formed when Brand New Heavies founder Jan Kincaid and vocalist Dawn Joseph left the group. The two musicians have been keeping fans updated on the album’s progress via its PledgeMusic page, where the project’s backers are privy to behind-the-scenes insights.

Ahead of the album’s release, the duo visited DJ Craig Charles’ BBC Radio 6Music show to chat about the album and their plans for the future. They also played a sold-out show at Manchester’s Band on the Wall venue as part of The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club.

For those who didn’t back it, much of the album is still shrouded in secrecy. Based on recent single ‘Scary Monsters’, though, the album will be a mix of classic funk and modern grooves. Other tracks known to be included so far include ‘Whatcha Sayin’, ‘Give It Up’, and ‘Sweet Harmony’. Based on the singles and PledgeMusic preview clips, the album is likely to exceed the already sky-high expectations from such esteemed musicians.

Look out for Music For Robots wherever you buy music this Friday, and book MF Robots to bring the brand new band to your venue.
