We are pleased to welcome grime legend Jammer to the MN2S booking agency live roster this week.
One of the lynchpins of the scene, Jammer has been pushing the grime sound since before it even had a name. Best known as a member of Boy Better Known alongside JME, Skepta, Wiley and co., he first came through back in 2000 as a member of Nasty Crew, releasing his single ‘Take U Out’ in 2003 before parting ways with the group.
In 2010, he signed with Big Dada to release his debut album ‘Jahmanji’ after releasing four volumes of his ‘Are You Dumb?’ mixtape series. Follow-up albums ‘Living The Dream’ and ‘Top Producer’ followed in 2013 and 2014 via Jahmek The World Productions.
This month saw the release of the momentous ‘Lord Of The Mics VII’ compilation, celebrating the 10th anniversary of his co-owned MC clash series by crashing into the Midweek Album Chart at No. 8. The lead single ‘Royal Rumble’ has been added to the 1Xtra B-list, and received further support from the likes of Radio 1, Kiss, Capital XTRA, Rinse and Unity.
“I’ve been doing Lord of the Mics for 10 years, and even now when I stand up in between MCs I feel adrenaline, I feel excited” he explained to Noisey. “It’s one of the most exciting things in life for me, to watch two MCs lyrically tear each other apart.”
Currently in the studio with Lily Allen, Jimmy Napes and Kelli-Leigh, his next single ‘Bars’ will air on radio this month, with the video premiere scheduled for Halloween.
