Scorcher is a grime pioneer, sitting alongside greats such as Wiley, JME, Kano and Ghetts as one of the genre’s originators. The man behind the chart-topping hit “It’s My Time” and cast member of Channel 4’s revolutionary drama Top Boy, Scorcher began his career on the North London grime scene in the mid-‘00s. After forming a formidable collective known as The Movement alongside fellow MCs Ghetts, Wretch 32, Devlin and Mercston, he kickstarted a legendary clash with rival crew Boy Better Know.
Not only an acclaimed MC, Scorcher is also a veteran producer, having scored the 2009 Official Mixtape Award for Best Producer. Other accolades include the nomination for Best Grime Mixtape, and two MOBO nominations. On top of his work in grime, Scorcher has toured with hip-hop greats Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg and tore up festival stages at some of the UK’s biggest events, including Glastonbury and Wireless.
