The Memphis hip-hop artist continues on the path to worldwide domination after being profiled as part of NME’s “breakout” series.
Since we last posted about NLE Choppa, he’s kept up a meteoric rise that’s seen him hit the Billboard Hot 100 numerous times , collaborate with top-tier artists such as Meek Mill, Lil Baby and Roddy Richh, and earn an inclusion in XXL’s 2020 Freshman Class, a who’s-who of America’s top rappers and hip-hop artists.
“Following a spiritual breakthrough, the Memphis rapper showcases the knowledge – and vocal dexterity – to be the next global teenage breakout.”

Choppa released his debut studio album, Top Shotta, in August to critical acclaim, breaking out of the US hip-hop market and finding fans across the globe. This led prominent British music publication NME to take note, profiling the rapper with an in-depth interview that covered his origins in Memphis, musical influences, and struggles with mental health. When asked what’s coming next in his career, Choppa replied: “I focus on the present because I have no worries about what the future holds for me. I really want to live in the moment because I feel like not many do and they lose what they have now on what they may have later. I don’t need hope, I got faith. Everything I touch turns to gold and my blessings are coming true.”
