MN2S artist Ocean Wisdom released his debut solo album Chaos 93’ on High Focus Records today.
The UK hip hop album is a fantastic display of everything the genre can be, pulling influences from classic hip hop, trap, grime, jazz and the music scene where Ocean Wisdom grew up. The 22 year old rapper’s lyrics combine clever wordplay and humour with aggression and braggadocio. The production, handled entirely by Dirty Dike, is hard-hitting and varied in a way that gels perfectly with Ocean Wisdom’s flow.
Features come from Lunar C, Remus, Edward Scissortongue, Klashnekoff, Jam Baxter and The Four Owls, who all lend their own talents to the album.
Chaos 93’ features Ocean Wisdom’s recent underground hit ‘Splittin’ the Racket,’ which references 90s hip hop classics from the likes of NWA and Nas. Other singles on the album include ‘Walkin’ and ‘Snakes & Blaggers’ both of which have been turning heads in recent months, turning people on to Ocean Wisdom’s immense talent.
The Camden-born, Brighton-based MC held an album launch party for Chaos 93’ on Thursday 18th February where he performed to a sold out crowd at Birthdays in Dalston. He was also recently featured in a biographical video from High Focus, premiered on Dummy.
With Chaos 93’ lighting up the UK iTunes charts on day one, Ocean Wisdom is bound to have an exciting year, which is great news for fans of great music.
