Belgian electronic music group Technotronic return to ‘Pump Up the Jam’ in venues around the world.
The group, formed in 1988 and famed for the hit single ‘Pump Up the Jam’, will be bringing their countless 90s hits back to the stage. The line-up will feature original female member Ya Kid K on vocals joined by guest rapper Nitro.
Manuella ‘Ya Kid K’ Kamosi worked on ‘Pump Up the Jam’ as a producer and vocalist, and released it internationally with Technotronic in 1989 to instant success.
The track, based on a sample from Farley Jackmaster Funk’s ‘The Acid Life’, was followed by an album called Pump Up the Jam: The Album, which featured further tracks with vocals from Ya Kid K and MC Eric. The group also had a big hit with a ‘Megamix’ of their previous work in 1990, which climbed the UK charts, and with the song ‘Spin That Wheel’, released as their side project Hi Tek 3.
Technotronic performed together from 1989 to 2009 before going on hiatus. This new reunion, the first in almost seven years, will feature performances of all their classic tracks such as ‘Move This’, ‘Rockin’ Over the Beat’ and of course ‘Pump Up the Jam’.
