Hip-hop heavyweight Big Boi has announced the Daddy Fat Saxxx Tour for solo album Boomiverse.
Last month, Big Boi released ‘Boomiverse’ his first solo album in five years. His third album since his OutKast days, Boomiverse included features from Sleepy Brown, Killer Mike, Snoop Dogg, Lunchmoney Lewis and many more. The album was a hit with fans and critics, so it’s no surprise he’s taking it on the road.
The Daddy Fat Saxxx Tour will call at fourteen venues in the USA, kicking off with North Coast Music Festival in Chicago on September 2nd. Notably, Big Boi won’t be visiting his native Georgia on this leg of the tour, but the tour’s subtitle ‘Sack 1’ hints there may be more dates to come when September is over.
At North Coast Music Festival, Big Boi will joins a lineup which already includes Eric Prydz & Deadmau5, Gucci Mane, Lil Dicky, and BADBADNOTGOOD. At Hopscotch Music Festival in North Carolina, Daddy Fat Saxxx will join Solange, Run the Jewels, Noname, and Lee Fields & The Expressions.
Big Boi is still releasing videos for Boomiverse. Last week ‘Chocolate’ ft. Toze got the visual treatment, coming after videos for ‘Kill Jill’ ft. Killer Mike & Jeezy, and ‘Mic Jack’ ft. Adam Levine.
