Utah Saints featured in Rolling Stone's 200 Greatest Dance Songs of All Time | MN2S

Rolling Stone placed their 1992 classic ‘Something Good’ at No. 134.

MN2S artists Utah Saints have been included in Rolling Stone’s list of the 200 Greatest Dance Songs of All Time. Describing their track ‘Something Good’ as a “stadium-rave anthem”, the publication noted the song’s Kate Bush sample, which Utah Saints’ Jez Willis discussed further: “We’ve taken a lot of flak about that sample,” Willis admitted, “but we’ve always been very open and honest about it. Still, I’m surprised how many people didn’t know it was Kate Bush. When we were on tour, in South Carolina, the program director of this radio station had never heard of Kate Bush!” Utah Saints were also interviewed for a feature piece in The Guardian surrounding how they made ‘Something Good’. In the article, Jez opened up on the production process behind this iconic track. “As a DJ, you constantly think about which tracks work together, and that helped when choosing samples,” he said. “The Kate Bush vocal came straight off the CD. Hardware in 1992 was very basic, and getting all the elements to sync was tricky. We had to pitch-bend the first part of Kate’s vocal to keep it in time, which is why it goes “oo-oo-aye”.”
