Florida native Anonymuz has had a busy year.
After dropping his sophomore album There Is No Threat in March on his own independent label Rxdical Records, shooting a video for standout track “West Side Freestyle” in June, and most recently releasing singles “Greene” and “Rockstar” (both of which earned a feature on Sprite’s official Spotify playlist) Anonymuz is gearing up to record a new video for his Denzel Curry collaboration “No Threat”. The evidently hard-working rapper sat down with DJ Booth to speak about his background, his influences and career so far.
Digging into the depths of Anonymuz’s artistic history, the piece looks at the artist’s formative experiences with music as a child, before covering his interest in anime growing up and the impact that this has had on his music. Other topics broached include his status as an independent artist, his collaboration with Sprite, and his relationship with fellow Florida rapper Denzel Curry.

Anonymuz recently founded his own label, Rxdical Records. When asked what it means to be a “rxdical”, he responded: “It’s about not accepting what the world sees you as. Being connected through the internet can also be a bad thing, you feel me? Most of us live the most idealized versions of our lives on the internet, and that can influence people to change who they are or want to be something that they’re not or not accept themselves in the face of what other people think. Being rxdical is accepting things the way they are and just doing you.”
“There are insurmountable odds against you no matter what, so it helps to think, “I’m just gonna wreck shit no matter what.” The moment that I falter or doubt, it’s over with.”
