MN2S has secured the talent for Gumtree’s latest ad campaign, a comic advertisement that features hip-hop artist and producer Marcel Somerville and Made In Chelsea’s Lucy Watson, a TV personality, model, and influencer. The two magnetic personalities take starring roles in a video that’s now live on Gumtree’s website and their Facebook.
The video showcases the classified-ads site’s newest feature, aimed at helping younger people find summer jobs. The site has recently expanded to cater to young people looking for casual and part-time work through a ‘Find Jobs Near Me’ feature that’s being rolled out this August and includes major partnerships with Deliveroo, Metropolitan Pubs, and TaskRabbit.
In the advertisement, Marcel and Lucy’s foray into the world of summer jobs begins with TaskRabbit, a site that matches freelance labourers to casual work opportunities. The pair works hard (one perhaps harder than the other) assembling a cot for a pregnant woman in need of assistance. After that, the team pulls together as they take on a big job for take-away delivery service Deliveroo, delivering an impressive fifteen pizzas to a park. This outdoorsy assignment proves a great match for the athletic pair. Finally, Marcel takes on a job pulling pints and waiting tables for a Metropolitan Pubs venue, while Lucy has a little trouble with her time management.
MN2S has collaborated with two charismatic personalities that appeal directly to a broad cross-section of younger fans, assisting the client Gumtree in demonstrating that their summer-jobs initiative is suitable for anyone, bringing young people together and having a positive impact on their customer’s lives.
Marcel Somerville shot to fame as a member of UK hip-hop group Blazin’ Squad before becoming an in-demand DJ and producer. Having starred in hit reality-TV shows such as The Games and Love Island, Marcel is known and loved for his laid-back personality and devil-may-care attitude.
Marcel stars alongside Lucy Watson in this chalk-and-cheese video pairing. Lucy is best known for her central role in E4’s staggeringly popular Made in Chelsea, an opportunity which in turn has propelled her to success in other areas as an influencer and model. Lucy has been featured in coveted fashion publications Grazia and OK Magazine’s ‘Too Hot to Handle’ issue, alongside universally adored stars Rita Ora and Beyoncé.
