Comedian Troy Hawke has made an appearance at Sheffield University’s Meadowhall student night, in a one-off event that saw the performer meet and greet students in a converted shopping centre, as hundreds queued to get selfies with Hawke. Dressed in his trademark purple attire, the comedian dished out one-liners to students as they entered into the event, playing a character beloved by his fans. Speaking about the engagement, Hawke commented: “I had a wonderful time at the Meadowhall student night where they’d somehow managed to transform a shopping centre into a student funfair, but also keep it a recognisable shopping centre. Every student I met without exception was delightful.” The ever-popular comedian has over 500,000 followers on TikTok, over 100,000 on Instagram and performed at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
