Wendy Rowe new creative director at Max Factor | MN2S

Celebrity makeup artist and MN2S booking agency talent Wendy Rowe has been signed by Max Factor as the brand’s Creative Director. The make-up artist to the stars has worked with i-D, Vogue, Burberry, Chanel, Cameron Diaz, Gisele and many more.

Max Factor left the US market in 2009 but made a triumphant return two years ago. Now, Rowe says she’s keen to continue providing products that are easy to use and inclusive, for a younger clientele.

She said: “Throughout my career, I’ve seen the needs of women around the world evolve over time; they now need fresh and current solutions, which we will be developing. Make-up is about people looking and feeling great.”

Max Factor was founded in 1909 by a Polish chemist of the same name, when he opened his first beauty store in Razan, Russia (now Poland.) His first big success came when he created a lighter greasepaint for actors to use when appearing on stage – which could be applied less heavy-handedly than its predecessor and made actors look ‘more human.’

Later in his career, he also introduced the idea of suiting makeup to the natural tones and colourings of a woman’s face, a principle still used today.

Factor also introduced the term ‘make-up’ to the general public almost 100 years ago, in 1920. It seems fitting, therefore, that the new Creative Director of the brand should be such a well respected make-up artist in the industry and beyond.

Rowe has built a large following on social media channels in recent years, but she didn’t always want to be a make-up artist. She said, speaking to the Telegraph: “I was only introduced to the idea of make-up artistry by a friend who went over to Paris to work as a session stylist – we spoke about it loads and it seemed a bit of a laugh like it would be fun.

“I had no idea that line of work even existed until then – at school, it was never ever suggested. But I was always interested in fashion, music, and film.”

Wendy is a fascinating artist with a wealth of experience in the fashion industry and as a self-made woman. If you’d like to book her as an inspirational speaker, or you’re a brand interested in collaborating, get in touch with her booking agents here at MN2S talent agency.
