A warm welcome to legendary beatsmith Freddy Fresh – the latest name to join the MN2S artist roster.
Freddy’s diverse history has seen him cover ground from hip-hop to disco to analog techno (with his USA/UK label), producing tracks alongside the likes of Fatboy Slim, Grandmaster Flash and Freestylers along the way. He has released on over 100 labels, from Harthouse to Sony and remixed major acts like Heaven 17.
He’s well known for his love of crate-digging, and his cut and paste routines that combine turntablism with MPC sample triggering, with an encyclopedic knowledge of music that also led him to write an award-winning book (‘The Rap Records’). He has guested on BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix, as well as on John Peel and Annie Nightingale’s shows on the station.
Freddy is currently finishing his new album and readying new releases for his Howlin’ Records imprint. He recently played at the huge Soundset festival in Minnesota alongside Mos Def, Wiz Khalifa and Cypress Hill – which you can hear in the player above.
