Die Antwoord, formed in 2008 in Cape Town, South Africa, is a groundbreaking rap/rave duo consisting of Watkin Tudor “Ninja” Jones and Anri “Yolandi Visser” du Toit. They emerged from the vibrant zef counterculture movement, which celebrates a unique blend of modern and trashy aesthetics. Their debut album, “$O$”, released in 2009, was a self-released project that quickly gained traction, showcasing their distinctive sound and visual style. The single “Enter the Ninja” became a viral sensation, propelling them into the international spotlight.

Following their initial success, Die Antwoord signed with Interscope Records and released the EP “5” in 2010, which included remixes and new tracks.
