Die Antwoord is a South African hip hop duo known for their unique ‘rap-rave’ style and provocative visuals, frequently achieving commercial success on electronic music charts. After their music video for ‘Enter the Ninja’ went viral online in 2010, Die Antwoord, the distinctive South African hip hop duo, rapidly gained international prominence for their unique ‘rap-rave’ style. Formed in Cape Town in 2008, the group consists of rappers Ninja and Yolandi Visser, alongside producer DJ Hi-Tek, delivering lyrics in both English and Afrikaans. Their debut album, ‘SOS’, released in 2009, captured early attention, leading to a contract with Interscope Records in 2010, under which they reissued ‘SOS’ and released their debut EP ‘5’ through Cherrytree and Interscope Records the same year.

In 2024, the duo’s career and cultural impact were further explored with the release of the documentary ‘Zef: The Story of Die Antwoord’. This project highlights their journey and unique contribution to the music and art world, reinforcing their status as a compelling and internationally recognized creative force in contemporary culture.
