Mount Kimbie signed to Warp Records in 2012 and has released multiple albums and EPs through the label, including 'Cold Spring Fault Less Youth' and 'The Sunset Violent'.
Mount Kimbie released their early EPs ('Maybes', 'Sketch on Glass') and their debut album ('Crooks & Lovers') through Hotflush Recordings, which contributed to their initial critical acclaim.
Mount Kimbie hosted weekly residencies on NTS Radio in 2015 and 2017, featuring guests such as James Blake, William Basinski, King Krule, and Actress, allowing them to showcase diverse musical selections and collaborations.

Mount Kimbie, an English electronic music group, was formed in 2008 by Dominic Maker and Kai Campos in London, England. Their early work, including the acclaimed EPs “Maybes” and “Sketch on Glass” released in 2009, helped to define the burgeoning post-dubstep scene. Their debut album, “Crooks & Lovers,” released in 2010 via Hotflush, garnered significant critical praise, being recognized on over thirty ‘Best of 2010′ lists. This early success established their reputation for a distinctive sound that blended electronic elements with influences from dubstep, R&B, post-rock, and IDM, characterized by field recordings and subtle textural details. Their style was noted for expanding beyond traditional dubstep, creating a hazier, more ambient form of electronica.
In 2012, Mount Kimbie signed with Warp Records, releasing their second album, “Cold Spring Fault Less Youth,” in 2013, followed by successful tours across the US and Europe. The duo’s collaborations became a notable aspect of their career, working with artists such as James Blake, King Krule, and Micachu. “Love What Survives,” released in 2017, featured contributions from these long-term collaborators and was met with strong positive reviews, with Pitchfork rating it 8.4/10 and including it in their ’50 Best Albums of 2017’ list. This period also saw the integration of Marc Pell and Andrea Balency-Béarn into their live performances, eventually becoming full members.
More recently, Mount Kimbie has continued to evolve and expand its musical reach. In 2022, they released the double album “MK 3.5: Die Cuts | City Planning,” showcasing individual works from Maker and Campos, with Maker’s production work earning a Grammy nomination for his collaboration with James Blake. Their latest album, “The Sunset Violent,” released in 2024, marked their first in seven years and the official inclusion of Balency-Béarn and Pell as full band members. This album and accompanying world tour, including cities like Berlin, Paris, and London, underscore their sustained presence and influence in the electronic music landscape.
