Noga Erez was born on December 26, 1989, in Tel Aviv, Israel, and spent her formative years in Caesarea. Her musical journey began in childhood, learning piano and guitar, and later led her to composition studies at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. Early in her career, she explored various genres, including a stint in an indie-folk band called The Secret Sea, before a pivotal shift towards jazz. Ultimately, by 2011, she transitioned to writing and producing electronic music, laying the groundwork for her distinctive sound.
Erez served as a military musician in the Israeli military, and following her service in 2011, she performed as a backing vocalist for Dana International at the Eurovision Song Contest. Her debut album, “Off the Radar,” released in 2017 through City Slang, marked a significant milestone, entirely produced by Erez and her partner Ori Rousso. This album garnered international attention, with lead single “Toy” receiving critical acclaim from The New York Times for its unique sound. The album’s release was supported by performances at major festivals including Primavera, SXSW, Pitchfork Paris, Roskilde, and Great Escape, followed by extensive touring across the UK and Europe. She continued to build her reputation with singles like “Chin Chin” (2019), which was praised by Billie Eilish.
Her second studio album, “Kids,” was released in March 2021, and she appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” performing the album’s single “Views.” In June 2022, Erez signed a new record deal with Neon Gold Records/Atlantic Records, signaling a new phase in her career. She collaborated with rock band Weezer on a remix of their song “Records” (2022) and with American rapper Missy Elliott on a remix of her song “Nails” (2022). Erez opened for Florence and the Machine at Madison Square Garden in September 2022 and performed with Robbie Williams at his Tel Aviv concert in June 2023. Her third studio album, “The Vandalist,” released in September 2024 under Neon Gold/Atlantic, features collaborations with artists like Robbie Williams, Eden Ben Zaken, Dillom, and Flyana Boss. In November 2024, she joined Pink’s Summer Carnival tour for two concerts in the United States.
