Hailing from Bondi beach Australia, Yolanda Be Cool keep it real and let their music do the talking. Their track ‘We No Speak Americano’ was a worldwide smash that sold over 5 million copies and gained 200 million Youtube views. In 2013 they released their album Ladies and Mentalmen on Sweat It Out/DIM MAK to widespread critical acclaim. It featured collaborations with house heavyweights Crystal Waters Barbara Tucker, legendary soul singer Betty Wright, US up-and-comer Nola Darling, and iconic Australian indigenous artist Gurrumul. When they’re not making music, they co-own and do A&R for the Sweat It Out! Label, working with other acclaimed Australian artists such as RÜFÜS, What So Not, and Motez. Though they do excel in this area, what Yolanda Be Cool really want to do is keep people dancing. In 2015 the boys hit the studio with ‘We No Speak Americano’ collaborator DCUP, together recording the platinum-selling single ‘Sugar Man’. Their next track was ‘Soul Makossa (Money)’, which became a true song of the summer and ended up as Beatport’s 3rd biggest-selling house track of the year. At the start of 2016, Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP paid tribute to the Beatles by reworking Paul McCartney’s classic ‘From Me to You’ into a brand new summertime anthem. Yolanda Be Cool’s sample-heavy party music is equally at home in the clubs or on the radio, and have crossover success without selling out. They have played to a crowd of 90,000 as a guest of the King of Morocco, but they can still feel at home in a tiny basement, mastering a mix of underground cool and pop sensibility that is rare to come by. They constantly surprise with their eclectic DJ sets around the globe, and with more tunes on the way, the duo’s future looks even brighter than their past.
