Aer, comprising David von Mering and Carter Schultz, carved out a unique space in music with their blend of hip-hop, reggae, and indie-pop, achieving chart success and establishing a distinctive sound over six years. After releasing their debut studio album, ‘The Bright Side,’ in 2012, which garnered significant attention by reaching number 85 on the US Billboard 200 chart and being certified Gold, Aer established themselves as a distinctive voice in music. Comprising David von Mering and Carter Schultz, Aer carved a unique space in the industry with their innovative blend of hip-hop, reggae, and indie-pop. Their early career saw the release of mixtapes ‘Water On The Moon’ in 2010 and ‘The Reach’ in May 2011, followed by their debut EP, ‘What You Need,’ later that same year.

Their hit song ‘Floats My Boat’ resonated widely, achieving over 7 million views on YouTube. The band also performed at prominent festivals, including Music Midtown in 2014 and SunFest in West Palm Beach, Florida, in 2015, showcasing their electrifying live presence. Aer concluded their six-year career in 2016, with David von Mering and Carter Schultz mutually deciding to pursue individual musical paths. Schultz launched a solo project under the moniker Carter Reeves before forming the band Surfer Girl, embracing a distinct indie-pop and surf-rock sound.

Von Mering transitioned into a successful career in production and songwriting, contributing to tracks for notable artists such as Quinn XCII, DVBBS, Surfaces, and Forrest Frank, continuing to shape the contemporary music landscape.
