Aerosmith

Aerosmith released their self-titled debut album in 1973, featuring founding members Steven Tyler (lead vocals), Joe Perry (guitar), Tom Hamilton (bass), Joey Kramer (drums), and Brad Whitford (guitar). Following ‘Get Your Wings’ in 1974, the band achieved mainstream success with the 1975 release of ‘Toys in the Attic,’ which included their first Top 40 hit ‘Sweet Emotion’ and the successful re-release of ‘Dream On,’ reaching number 6 on the charts. Their blues-based hard rock sound, incorporating elements of pop rock, heavy metal, and rhythm and blues, solidified their presence in the genre with subsequent albums like ‘Rocks’ (1976) and ‘Draw the Line’ (1977). After the original lineup fully reunited in 1984, Aerosmith experienced a pivotal career resurgence with their 1986 collaboration with Run-D.M.C.

Aerosmith was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, the same year they headlined the Super Bowl XXXV halftime show and released the album ‘Just Push Play.’ Additional releases included ‘Honkin’ on Bobo’ (2004) and ‘Music from Another Dimension!’ (2012), alongside innovative ventures like ‘Guitar Hero: Aerosmith’ (2008). In 2013, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. From 2019 to 2022, Aerosmith held a successful Las Vegas residency titled ‘Aerosmith: Deuces are Wild’ and received the MusiCares Person of the Year award in 2020. While a planned farewell tour in 2023 led to an announcement of retirement from touring in 2024 due to a vocal cord injury sustained by Steven Tyler, the band has indicated that future music releases and one-off performances remain a possibility.
