Kalash joined the lineup for the MAD ISLAND FESTIVAL. The event was scheduled for March 27-28, 2026, at Happy Bay, Saint Martin.
Kévin Valleray, known as Kalash, was born on June 12, 1988, in Strasbourg, France. Growing up in Martinique, he embarked on his professional music career with a self-titled debut album in 2010. This release established his unique blend of reggae and dancehall music and led to him receiving the ‘Revelation Dancehall 2010’ accolade. His initial work also featured collaborations with other artists.
His second album, “2 #Classic,” released after his debut, achieved significant commercial success by reaching number one on iTunes in the French Reggae category. This album reinforced his standing as a leading artist within the genre, demonstrating his capability to connect with audiences through engaging and relatable lyrics that reflect Caribbean culture. He has also released hit singles, such as “Laisse Brûler,” which further highlight his artistic versatility.
Kalash signed with Universal Music Group for his album “Kaos,” released on May 6, 2016, which reached number 4 on the French SNEP albums chart. He has also collaborated with notable French rap and hip-hop artists, including Booba and Admiral T. His album “Mwaka Moon” released in 2017 achieved Gold certification from SNEP and spawned the hit single “Mwaka Moon” featuring Damso, which topped the French charts. He continues to be an active presence in the music industry, releasing albums such as “Diamond Rock” (2019), “Tombolo” (2022), and “Ex-Voto” (2026), consistently maintaining a strong presence on French music charts.
