Alabama is a legendary American country music band formed in 1969 in Fort Payne, Alabama. The group, originally known as Wildcountry, consists of cousins Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry, and Jeff Cook. They gained prominence in the 1980s, achieving remarkable success with 27 number-one hits on the Billboard country charts and seven multi-platinum albums. Their first single with RCA Records, “Tennessee River,” marked the beginning of an unprecedented streak of 21 consecutive number-one singles, solidifying their status as country music icons.
