Aitch

Harrison James Armstrong, known professionally as Aitch, was born on December 9, 1999, in New Moston, Manchester, England. His journey into music began casually in 2015 when a YouTube video of him rapping to friends gained unexpected local traction, accumulating 10,000 views despite his initial reluctance for its publication. Encouraged by a friend, his freestyles continued to be uploaded, steadily building his online presence. This early exposure on platforms like P110 YouTube channel, starting in September 2016, laid the groundwork for his future career, featuring tracks like ‘Back To Basics’ in June 2017 and his debut EP, ‘On Your Marks,’ released in December 2017.

His breakthrough arrived in May 2018 with the release of ‘Straight Rhymez,’ a track that garnered national attention and solidifed his position as an emerging talent. The momentum continued into 2019 with successful releases such as ‘Taste (Make It Shake),’ which peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart. His second EP, ‘AitcH2O,’ released in September of the same year, achieved number three on the UK Albums Chart. Aitch’s ability to collaborate effectively was showcased in March 2020 with ‘Rain,’ a collaboration with AJ Tracey and Tay Keith, reaching number three on the UK Singles Chart, followed by his third EP, ‘Polaris,’ in May.

Recent years have seen Aitch maintain his chart presence and expand his discography. In 2022, he released ‘Baby’ featuring Ashanti, which also reached number two on the UK Singles Chart. His debut studio album, ‘Close to Home,’ released on August 19, 2022, climbed to number two on the UK Albums Chart. This album included the track ‘My G,’ featuring Ed Sheeran, dedicated to his sister Gracie, who has Down syndrome. His career has been marked by multiple top 10 singles in the UK and recognition within the industry, including a Brit Award for British Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act in 2023.
