She rose to prominence after winning the fifth series of The X Factor in 2008. Her debut single, “Hallelujah,” became a million-selling chart-topper and the best-selling single of 2008 in the UK, also achieving the European record for most singles sold in 24 hours with 105,000 units. Her debut album, “Overcome” (2009), debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and produced hit singles like “Bad Boys” (Feat. Flo Rida), “All Night Long” (Feat. Pitbull), and “Start Without You” (Feat. Laza Morgan), leading to three BRIT Award nominations. Throughout her career, she has sold over 5 million records in the UK and accumulated over 200 million streams.
Burke transitioned into musical theatre with her debut in 2014 as Rachel Marron in “The Bodyguard,” a role she reprised in touring productions until 2019.
