About

All Shall Perish is an American deathcore band formed in Oakland, California, in 2002. The band emerged from the local San Francisco Bay Area music scene, with founding members Matt Kuykendall, Ben Orum, Mike Tiner, Caysen Russo, and Craig Betit drawing from their previous experiences in bands like Antagony, End of All, and Boof. In 2003, the band released their first demo, which quickly caught the attention of the Japanese label Amputated Vein Records. This led to the release of their debut album, “Hate, Malice, Revenge,” on August 19, 2003. This album was later re-released by Nuclear Blast Records in 2005, marking a significant step in their early career.

Following their signing with Nuclear Blast, All Shall Perish continued to develop their sound and gain wider recognition. In 2006, they released “The Price of Existence,” an album that featured the single “Eradication.” The music video for “Eradication” received airplay on MTV2’s Headbangers Ball, helping to increase their visibility. In September 2008, the band released their third studio album, “Awaken the Dreamers,” which debuted at number 126 on the Billboard 200 chart and topped the Top Heatseekers chart, selling 5,500 copies in its first week. Over the years, the band experienced several lineup changes, including the departure of founding members and the introduction of new talent, such as Chris Storey and Hernan “Eddie” Hermida, who took over on lead guitar and vocals, respectively. These periods also saw the band undertake extensive tours, including the Darkness Over Europe 2007 tour and a notable tour of Russia in 2008, where they became the first all-American metal band to perform in Siberia.

The band’s fourth full-length album, “This Is Where It Ends,” was released in 2011. This album further cemented their standing in the deathcore genre. However, a significant turning point occurred in 2013 when vocalist Hernan “Eddie” Hermida departed to join Suicide Silence. Despite this, the band continued, with Mike Tiner confirming their commitment to moving forward. In 2015, All Shall Perish announced a reunion featuring several original members, including Hermida, Orum, Kuykendall, and Russo, alongside Chris Storey. After a period of inactivity and the eventual announcement in 2020 that the reunion was not proceeding, the band announced another reunion in 2024, with plans to perform at major festivals like Big Texas Metal Fest and Inkcarceration Festival, signaling their return to live performances.
