"Go and Seek" (2017) – from Sounds of Lynchburg (where the band traveled to Lynchburg, Tennessee, home of Jack Daniel's whiskey, for inspiration)
All Them Witches, an American rock band, was formed in Nashville, Tennessee, on January 6, 2012. The initial lineup included drummer Robby Staebler, guitarist Ben McLeod, and bassist/vocalist Charles Michael Parks Jr. Staebler, having recently moved to Nashville and looking for collaborators, recruited McLeod after seeing him play slide guitar. Parks Jr. joined later after being impressed by demo songs created by Staebler and McLeod. The band’s name is derived from a book of witchcraft featured in the 1968 film “Rosemary’s Baby”. They self-released their first four-track EP in 2012 and subsequently became the first American band signed to the German heavy psych record label Elektrohasch Schallplatten, releasing their debut album, “Our Mother Electricity,” in February 2013.
Over the years, All Them Witches experienced several lineup changes and significant career progressions. In 2013, they self-released their second studio album, “Lightning at the Door” via Bandcamp, which later received broader distribution through Tone Tree Music. The band’s growing recognition led to a signing with New West Records in summer 2015, marking a turning point. Their third studio album, “Dying Surfer Meets His Maker”, was recorded in a remote mountainside cabin over six days and released the same year. This period also saw the re-release of “Lightning at the Door” by New West in 2016 and the release of their live album “Live in Brussels” in September 2016, followed by their fourth studio album, “Sleeping Through the War,” in February 2017. The band continued to tour extensively, solidifying their presence in the rock music scene.
A notable shift occurred in mid-2018 with the departure of keyboardist Allan Van Cleave, who was temporarily replaced by Jonathan Draper. Despite subsequent changes in their configuration, including a period as a trio without Draper after the release of their album “ATW”, the band continued to produce music. Their sixth studio album, “Nothing as the Ideal,” recorded at Abbey Road Studios, was released in September 2020 and was named among the best metal albums of the year by Metal Hammer. Allan Van Cleave rejoined the band in April 2021, and they embarked on a project to release a “Baker’s Dozen” of tracks throughout 2022. Drummer Robby Staebler departed in April 2024, with Christian Powers stepping in, making his studio debut on their upcoming 2026 album, “House of Mirrors,” which began its tour in July 2025.
