AlunaGeorge was an English electronic music duo formed in London, consisting of Aluna Francis and George Reid. The duo first met in June 2009 when Reid remixed a track from Francis’s band, My Toys Like Me. Their distinct sound, characterized by Francis’s unique vocals and Reid’s innovative production, quickly gained attention within the electronic music scene. They officially debuted in 2011 with the single “Analyser” / “We Are Chosen” and subsequently released remixes for artists like Mirrors and Lana Del Rey.

AlunaGeorge gained wider recognition with the release of their single “You Know You Like It” in 2012, which was part of a three-track EP. Their debut commercial single, “Your Drums, Your Love,” followed in September 2012, charting in the UK. In 2013, the duo announced their debut album, “Body Music,” which was released in July of the same year. They were shortlisted for the 2013 BRIT Award Critics’ Choice and nominated for the BBC Sound of 2013 poll, finishing in second place. A significant milestone in 2013 was their collaboration with Disclosure on “White Noise,” which reached number two on the UK Singles Chart. The duo continued to release music, including the single “Supernatural” in 2014, and signed with Interscope Records in 2015.

Their second studio album, “I Remember,” was released in September 2016, featuring collaborations with artists such as Popcaan. AlunaGeorge also performed as an opening act for Sia’s North American tour in 2016 and Coldplay’s European leg of the ‘A Head Full of Dreams Tour’ in 2017. In 2020, AlunaGeorge went on an indefinite hiatus, allowing Aluna Francis to pursue a solo career, releasing her debut solo album “Renaissance” in August 2020 and a second album, “MYCELiUM,” in 2023. George Reid has also pursued individual projects.
