Born on October 29, 1998, in Sea Cliff, New York, Dylan Brady began his musical journey at an early age, playing drums at six and later singing. Alongside his twin brother Cody, he formed “The Brady Brothers,” performing locally and drawing influences from artists like Bruno Mars and Jason Mraz. At 13, Dylan was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome, finding a significant outlet and relief in music. This experience led him to become a Youth Ambassador for the Tourette Syndrome Association (now the Tourette Association of America), advocating for acceptance and tolerance. In 2014, Dylan gained wider recognition through Disney Channel’s “Make Your Mark” series, where he debuted his first song on Radio Disney.
Brady moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2016 to pursue his musical career. He briefly studied songwriting at Belmont University before committing to music full-time. In Nashville, he signed an artist development deal with Joe Don Rooney of Rascal Flatts, who co-produced Dylan’s debut single, “Shifting Gears,” released in August 2018. His career progressed with a signing to Barry Weiss’s RECORDS label, a joint venture with Sony Music, in early 2019. Under this label, he released “Over Us” in May 2019, which Rolling Stone recognized among its “10 Best Country and Americana Songs to Hear Now,” and “I Hate California” in August 2019.
More recently, Dylan Brady has taken creative control of his artistry as an independent artist, emphasizing authenticity in his music production. His recent work, including singles such as “How Are You?” and “Forgot About You,” showcases a genre-blending style that combines heartfelt country lyrics with pop melodies. This approach reflects his diverse influences and his commitment to producing music that genuinely represents his artistic vision.
