About

Born Adam Ohana in New York, An-Ten-Nae established himself in Oakland, California, as an electronic music producer. He developed a distinctive sound he termed “acid crunk,” characterized by deep bass and glitchy atmospheric elements. His career began in the 2000s, with his debut EP, “Acid Crunk 1,” released in 2008. This release marked the beginning of a prolific series, with a follow-up in the same year and three more installations in 2009. “Acid Crunk 3” was the first in the series to feature multiple tracks. By 2012, Ohana had released ten parts of this series, solidifying his experimental approach to electronic music.

His debut album, “Raindrops on Roses,” was released in 2013, featuring collaborations like the title track with Alice D. and a remix of Pair of Arrows’ “Vestige.” This album also showcased “Unplug from the Machine,” a track featuring his side project LowRIDERz. Demonstrating a continuous evolution in his sound, Ohana formed another side project, Dimond Saints, with fellow Bay Area producer Releece. This duo released several EPs and a full-length album, “Prism in the Dark.” Continuing his solo work, An-Ten-Nae released his sophomore album, “Transmissions,” in 2015.

In 2017, An-Ten-Nae released his third album, “Medicine,” through Muti Music, following the single “Baratang” featuring Soo Han. This album presented a shift, incorporating global influences and less bass-heavy instrumentals compared to his earlier “Acid Crunk” series. Notable tracks from “Medicine” include “Running with Shadows” featuring vocalist Amelia Rae and “Kia Toa,” which incorporated Maori haka samples. In 2020, he announced the “Acid Voodoo” tour, aiming to build a global brand focused on positive values. He recently announced his new album, “Limitless,” set for release in April 2024, exploring themes of self-discovery and transformation.
