ASAP Rocky is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, and actor. He is known for his musical contributions as a solo artist and as a member of the hip hop collective A$AP Mob. After releasing breakthrough singles ‘Purple Swag’ and ‘Peso’ in 2011, A$AP Rocky signed a $3 million record deal with Polo Grounds Music, RCA Records, and Sony Music Entertainment. His critically acclaimed debut mixtape, Live.
His second studio album, At. Long. Last. A$AP (2015), debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
He made television appearances on The Tonight Show (2015) and Carpool Karaoke. Rocky also became a sought-after collaborator, featuring on high-profile tracks with Selena Gomez (‘Good for You’ in 2015), Alicia Keys (‘Blended Family (What You Do for Love)’ in 2016), Lana Del Rey, and G-Eazy in 2017. In 2018, A$AP Rocky released independent tracks including ‘????? 5ive $tar$,’ alongside collaborations like ‘Cocky’ with Gucci Mane and 21 Savage for the film Uncle Drew. His third studio album, Testing (2018), debuted at number four on the Billboard 200, solidifying his appeal.
Beyond music, he is recognized for his work in fashion design, modeling, and founding the creative agency AWGE, also directing and producing music videos under the pseudonym Lord Flacko. In 2022, A$AP Rocky supported the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ international stadium tour. He released singles ‘D.M.B.’ and ‘Shittin’ Me,’ and appeared on Nigo’s I Know Nigo! and Metro Boomin’s Heroes & Villains albums.
His upcoming fourth studio album, Don’t Be Dumb, was announced for 2022. Rocky is also expanding his acting portfolio with roles in films Highest 2 Lowest and If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, both slated for 2025.
